Our Story

Ilan Diego Hurtado was just shy of his 10th birthday when he was killed in August, 2014.

During his too-short time on this earth, Ilan joyfully embraced all opportunities that were presented to him.  Playing the cello, skateboarding, reading, creating stories, visiting museums, bird watching, cooking, he  had a love of life that his mother would now like to pass on to those who are not as blessed as he was during the time he was with us.

"I remember asking Ilan what he felt was his special place, and he said home with me, snuggling. What a lovely and loving child."
